Maskara Gala Night-October 5, 2024

On October 5, 2024, the FEU MTIAS alumni gathered at the Westgate Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, for a memorable night of reunion, recognition, and celebration. With a total of 104 registrants, the event attracted 99 attendees, including 60 alumni and 39 guests, each excited to rekindle friendships.

The attendees were welcomed into venue meticulously decorated by the event team. Decorations, coordinated by Tess Crisostomo and generously supported by friends Rea, RG, Lucille, and Chito Rutaquio, reflected the evening’s elegant and celebratory atmosphere. From the masks and flag poles to the unique table decorations, every detail contributed to a sense of warmth and nostalgia.

The reunion embraced a wide range of graduating classes, with alumni representation spanning almost five decades—from the earliest batch in 1956 through the class of 2003. Particularly notable was the strong showing from the Class of 1983, who led the attendance with 8 members. In an admirable act of generosity, this batch chose to donate their $300 prize for most attendees to FEU MTIAS, embodying the spirit of giving back to the community.

The event ran smoothly, thanks to a dedicated planning committee. Julie Papango and Tess Crisostomo took charge as emcees, ensuring that every part of the program unfolded seamlessly. Julie also managed the audio-visual presentations, capturing the spirit of each graduating class, while Tess coordinated the decorations, photography, and sponsorships, creating a cohesive and visually appealing experience.

Committee members handled various responsibilities, each contributing to the event’s success. Fe Mallari arranged tables and managed registration, while Eric Antonio, the event chair, secured the venue and arranged essential sponsorships, including an impressive FEU backdrop. Luz Guerrero meticulously tracked donations, maintained records, and introduced the keynote speaker, highlighting her commitment to keeping the event organized and meaningful. Dan Dominguez provided oversight and delivered the President’s speech, while Cyd Sartoris supported various activities, such as organizing the AVP pictures, managing the raffle, and giving the closing remarks.

A dance performance brought together 12 alumni, a group whose rehearsals and camaraderie reflected the teamwork and joy that underpinned the entire event. Spouses Nestor Guerrero (“The Ambassador”), Cenon Crisostomo, and Paul Mallari lent their support, along with other alumni like Erlinda Palma, Wilma Tiangco, and Ricky Lopez, who contributed both time and refreshments to make the evening enjoyable for all.

Raffle prizes added excitement, with all gifts generously donated by the committee officers, showcasing a community built on shared generosity and support. The raffle was one of many reminders of the commitment and spirit that define FEU MTIAS.

As the evening concluded, the camaraderie and warmth among attendees reaffirmed the strength of the FEU MTIAS community. This night was more than a gathering; it was a celebration of friendships that transcend time and distance, built on shared memories and a common pride in their alma mater. With heartfelt speeches, meaningful recognition, and enduring connections, this gala was a testament to the FEU MTIAS legacy and the ongoing commitment of its alumni.
